LDL Case Study: Renovation to Whistler Cabin

Were excited to be launching an exciting new series on our blog called LDL Case Studies. The case studies will be featured projects of past and current jobs and will be laid out into a three step format: objection of renovation or build, results and a testimonial of what the owner has to say about the job. We know people love to hear other clients experiences, so we thought this would be the perfect addition to our site for potential clients to refer to.

Case Study: To renovate an outdated log cabin in Whistler, BC.

Objective of the renovation: To create a home away from home for a young family of four. Their budget was sensitive since its their second home and therefore cost and design options were to be closely evaluated when making design choices.

Result: The cabin already had beautiful cedar accents and an open layout which are great characteristics of a modern chalet home. To compliment the original building materials we designed + built fir styled custom cabinets with fir flooring to match the logs. To complete the modern chalet look we built and designed a stunning stone fireplace and chimney located in the living room for cozy winter nights.
What the owner says: “This was a somewhat complicated job with a sensitive budget and we were assisted with suggestions on both design and materials, outlying the cost vs benefits of the various options. Overall, the LDL team delivered a final renovation that significantly exceeded our expectations in terms of design, finishing, and quality.”
